Know which foods cleared the 3-Day Rule
Your baby just had egg for the first time, and every source says the same thing: one new food at a time, then watch for three days. BabyEats holds that discipline for you: tap a tile to log today’s taste, and a food turns Safe only after tastes on 3 distinct calendar days with no reaction — taps can never fast-forward.
The Tracker — one grid answers the question, one tap logs the taste.

A status derived from your log — the real, date-gated 3-Day Rule
BabyEats never asks you to judge whether a food is safe. Every tile’s status is derived from the tastes you log — the dates and the reactions — never stored and never set by hand. The day count advances by the calendar, not by taps: one log per day, so “3 days” is genuine. Taps can never fast-forward a food to Safe, and they can never set a Reaction.
Tap a tile to log today’s taste — max one per calendar day. The tile shows which day of the 3-day window the food is on, and a free daily reminder nudges you to continue testing.
“Offered on 3 distinct days.” A food reaches Safe ONLY after tastes on 3 distinct calendar days with no reaction. Nothing in the app can mark a food Safe by hand.
A deliberate action, never an accident: touch & hold → details → Log a reaction, with a symptom quick-pick and a note. A reaction freezes the food at red — and Undo is one tap.
Honesty first: the 3-Day Rule is a logging discipline, not a medical guarantee — it helps you watch for delayed reactions before marking a food safe. Guidance in the app is general, based on AAP / NHS references — reviewed June 2026. Always consult your pediatrician.
Everything one-handed, between spoonfuls
No onboarding, no lifestyle dashboard. One anxiety, owned end-to-end.
Tap a tile, log a taste
Logging today’s taste is exactly one tap, with a haptic confirm — max one per calendar day. Touch & hold any food for details, reactions & editing. Undo is one tap — nothing is irreversible.
The real 3-Day Rule
Watch for delayed reactions before marking safe. The day count advances by the calendar, not by taps, so “3 days” is genuine — a food turns Safe only after tastes on 3 distinct days with no reaction.
Deliberate reaction logging
Logging a reaction takes intent: touch & hold → Log a reaction, with a symptom quick-pick (hives/rash, vomiting, breathing, other) and a free-text note. A reaction freezes the food at red.
Big-9 allergen tracking
Milk, egg, peanut, tree nut, soy, wheat, fish, shellfish, sesame — introduce early & often, one at a time, each through the full 3-Day Rule, with a practical preparation tip for every allergen.
Gagging vs choking — free
The panic-button tab: know the difference in 2 seconds and stay calm. Noisy coughing is usually gagging; silence is choking — with a one-tap call to emergency services. Never paywalled.
In your language — free
English, Romanian, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. Pick your language in Settings and the whole app — plus the widgets and the reminders — switches instantly. Defaults to your iPhone's language.
Reaction Watch Pro
A quiet 2-hour Lock-Screen Live Activity after each new taste — the window when most immediate reactions show — counting up without unlocking your phone. Logging stays in the app.
The Emergency tab — the difference in 2 seconds, the call one tap away.
Gagging vs Choking
Babies gag their way through learning to eat — and it looks terrifying. The Emergency tab tells you in 2 seconds whether to stay calm or act.
- One tap from anywhere — it’s a permanent tab, not a buried menu. No reading lists mid-panic.
- Gagging: audible coughing, spluttering, baby is noisy — usually safe, part of learning. Stay calm, watch, and don’t put fingers in their mouth.
- Choking: complete silence — can’t cough, cry or breathe; skin turning dusky, pale or blue. Act immediately and call emergency services.
- Free forever. The guide and the call button are part of the safety core, so they will never move behind the paywall. Not medical advice — verify with your pediatrician.
Data Not Collected — everything stays on your phone
You install BabyEats to record what your child eats — reactions included. That is exactly when an app should want nothing from you. BabyEats is local-only by design — your food log never leaves your device unless you choose to share an export yourself.
The safety core is free. Pro buys convenience.
